I don't understand the temperatures. It appears that the outside of the
device is at 800C

Cures has stated that at the time of the photo, the average external
temperature of the module was E-Cat was 801 degrees Celsius, with a peak
local temperature of 873C in one spot. This was recorded by the infrared
camera. The temperature of the inner surface was measured (with the
handheld laser themometer) to be from 1,100C to 1,200C, increasing in
temperature towards the center of the module.

However, that should be bright red:

It doesn't look right to me,but I simply don't know.

In addition, they calculate heat output at 13.39kW

That is 45.6K BTU

That is a lot of heat for the small office that this appears to be run
out of. Nearly 4 tons of AC for one room.

The heat output figures just don't make sense to me.

I also roughly calculated the surface area required to yield 45K BTU at 800C

http://docs.engineeringtoolbox.com/documents/431/heat_radiation_from_black_surface_absolute_zero.pdf

http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/radiation-heat-transfer-d_431.html

and it is ~ 1.75 SF

The surface area of the pipe looks closer to a sixth of that.

I happen to think LENR is doable, but this doesn't seem right. The heat
output figures seem doubtful. It seems to me closer to the heat input.

I'm with you. IMO PESN is a bit to quick to echo whatever they hear from
Rossi et al.

Thanks for that link!

It doesn't look/feel right to me too, but that doesn't keep me from
finding the article "interesting". :)

I don't know, too - at this point I'm inclined to take everything from
both Rossi and PESN with a grain of salt...

PESN reports whet is there, and is the first to castigate when a hoax or
scam is involved.
