International Internet Traffic Jams Ahead Unless More Cables Laid

As the internet rapidly expands with ever more videos, web pages and posts, more ocean-spanning cable lines will be
needed to string together this essential global computer network.

In five to seven years, for example, the transatlantic fiber optic cables linking the United States to Europe will run
out of capacity.

Why has it taken you so long to think about this aspect of NBN?

Consumer NBN will be no faster than current ADSL dues to lack of
overseas incoming capacity. That's why NBN is technically a joke
at the moment. For the future? Good thing, like copper in the
ground the govt paid for decades ago.

Why would these people want to use cable when cheap clean fast wireless
is available ;-(

Wot are you talking about? The above shows that people investing in
cross-Pacific capacity discounted the NBN completely. Labor idiot.

You have to remember that anybody who contradicts this political shill
is automatically a "Labor idiot". Thats as far as his tiny intellect goes.

Not very bright are you?

The article (did you read it?) is about trans-Pacific capacity. Clearly
investors have completely discounted the NBN.

Talking about tiny intellects...

Now they can increase capacity to meet demand. I rather Australia
pushing for increased capacity thus allowing these companies to lay more
cable than limiting us to the capacity they set.

They are *only* doubling it. Duh
