When it comes to electronics, I'm a complete idiot. Can someone direct me to
a website that covers introductory issues or even recommend a good
introductory book. I'd like to build my own circuits but before I do, I need
to understand how things work -resistors, transistors, etc.

Thanks for your help.

Pete -

I would recommend "Basic Electronics" by Bernard Grob. It is a bit pricey
on Amazon.com but perhaps it is available in your local library or if not,
perhaps they could order it for you. I read it when I was about 12 and it
made everything (with the possible exception of electromagnetics) easy to
understand.
