Hey guys, I'd guess you would guess by the name why I'm asking about this project :D
Basically what I'm looking for is weather its possible to make a circuit that would change pitch on a sound file by using the Tach sense wire from a Pontiac Firebird.

The sound in question is this, there are so many people out there with the sound just playing at the same tone and the pitch not changing whatsoever when the car sets off or accelerates, or shuts down or a gradual startup.

So id like to replicate as it was from the show, the question is, is it possible

Thanks in advance

Hi Stu
so you already have a sound file and you want to change the pitch on it, and that's all you want to change? It doesn't sound like a go to me, but maybe I have the wrong picture.
What do you want to achieve? Maybe if you can define your goal ( make a little car sound like a big car to a passenger, etc.) we could find a way to help. I'm pretty sure there are commercially available units for that particular trick, though.

I have a sound file yes.
O.k. lets say I put that sound file onto a conventional set of CD/MP3 djing decks and used the pitch slider to increase and decrease the pitch, basically my hand movement would be the RPM of the car, so in theory the tach's rpm would increase the pitch at higher rpm and decrease at lower.
The goals to make the car sound similar to how it did on the big screen, its by no means a small car:
