Hey all,

Recently grabbed a new SAV9D off of eBay as I had an issue with my old unit where after being on for about a minute, cameras would get static to the point where the feed was impossible to see.

The new unit doesn't seem to supply any power to the camera outs. Recorded a quick video to show what's up https://photos.app.goo.gl/J3ofGLonipMn16Xt6. Any idea what is going on here and if it's repairable?

Hello,

Here is a picture from a screenshot of your video:

I have indicated the fuse.

Ran a continuity check on the fuse and it seems fine, multimeter beeped and read about 1Ω

Hello,

Could you post a clear photo of the diagram in the door?

Hello,

In the diagram there are 9 PTC resistors drawn.
Those are self resettable fuses.
When to much current is drawn, the PTC will get high resistance and disconnect the load.
When the load is removed, the voltage will come back in a couple of seconds, when the PTC cools down.

Thanks @bertus. I've left it on for minutes though and the voltage never comes back on any of the outputs so it doesn't seem like it matches the situation you're describing?

Hello,

The indicator lights are also off?
Could you measure in front of the PTCs ?

Did you adjust the voltage using the potentiometer--it may be set to zero volts?

Maybe a clear picture of the top side of the board to see if there are any test points or jumpers to enable? i can't read the previous picture.

The PTCs were likely getting hot in the old unit and maybe worn out--maybe you could switch to a different output channel that has unused or fresher PTCs? They do erode over time with usage. Commonly used as a low-cost starting circuit for refrigerator compressor motors.
