JVA Fence energiser component ID

I've got a component that I'm not sure of.
Either a cap or a MOV


It's called C54 on the PCB but hmmm 474J??

A photo of the board,component has been ringed.


Would appreciate some certainty here

Hello,

It is a 470 nF +/- 5% 250 VAC capacitor.

Sir bushtech . . . . .


Will placing the tips of a pair of needle nose pliers to the wire coming out of " A " and moving it . . .then reveal that it is being floating loose in a fractured ring solder joint . . . . . that had been arcing ?

If so, that would account for the ensuing resultant collateral damage to the end half of the orange poly cap.

Now I can see the string of blue fat HV disc ceramic capacitors on the far side, but the HV pulse transformer and rectifier (s) that feeds them must be hidden below the display board . . . yellow arrow direction . . . along with a large plastic cased SCR that pulses the HV transformer.
