Hi there,
I just salvaged a LCD Module (from TELXON PTS-710 Portable
Data Terminal). Its working fine, but I am unable to find datasheets
for the module. Its a 4-line x 16-character LCD; 5 x 7 dot matrix and
has 16 pins and bakclight.
How do I get the pin assignment for the module ? Is there a
standard that the industry follows for pinouts in LCD modules ?
I also found some interesting scriptures on the lcd module -
1)EM9852
2)610/710 DISPLAY
3)ks0066u (LCD controller IC);
4)ks0065bq (3 such ICs. Don't know what it does)
5)fab rev107
What numbers should i look for to get the dataskeets

The most useful info is usually the data sheet for the LCD controller.

The pin assignments that Optrex uses are fairly typical but NOT always
what any given display may use. See page 11 of the manual at
http://www.optrex.com/pdf/Dmcman_full.pdf Pins 15 and 16, when present,
are often for the backlight.
