Learning basic electronics

Are there any good basic electronics books online that you can
download or view on the web? I know there are many excellent books
like that for programming, but I couldn't find anything like that on
electronics.

I already tried some books I found in the library like "The Art of
Electronics" and others, but each one just confused me more. Are all
the books like that? I can buy from Amazon.com but the book will not
get here on time before my test and I am afraid it will just be no
different than the books in my university. Any ideas for solutions
from anyone (links to online e-books on basic electronics or other
tips you may have for me) will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

For a free online book go to http://www.ibiblio.org/obp/electricCircuits/.
I'm new new to electronics and I found the books by the Bureau of Naval
Personnel to be inexpensive and quite good. The books are:

Basic Electricity
ISBN: 0-486-20973-3
Publisher: Dover

Basic Electronics
ISBN:0-486-21076-6
Publisher: Dover

NEETS page is informative. Did you meant
free html? I can't seems to find free pdf's.

Well, poop; it's been changed since I last dl'ed anything.

OTOH the whole NEETS series is available for US$19.95 on
CD, and worth a hell of a lot more.

I see copies of frinst NAVSHIPS 900,016 (radar electronic
fundamentals) are sellig for from 9-20 US$ so I'll take
better care of what I've got. ;>)
