Hi.
This clock is tricking me. Can anyone explain, if I do something wrong?
Is it impossible to solder with an ordinary iron solder?
If you look at the picture with only one component, is there a special way to solder it? I noticed the legs must be placed as seen in the circuit at the print in one directino, but is there up and down, I mean can it be turned 180 degrees in the wrong way?
Looking foreward for an answer, maybe it can help me.
Kind regards from Lene s-l1600.jpg

The legs are not 'square' on the body so the switch can only go in one of two ways, both of which will work.

There should be no problem soldering any parts if you use the proper technique.

Note that it is IMPERITIVE that the IC is placed correctly - you only get one chance!

This type is switch is symmetrical. It can be turned 180 degrees and still will work in the circuit.

Thank you for answering me. There is not the same number at the switches, but I think they are alike each other. I will try again with a more thin tin thread. I also noticed, it is important to fill out the printhole. I am near the goal, there is some digital led light, but the clock does not work as a clock.

You might want to tell us the numbers on the switches (and a manufacturer's logo, if there is one).
The picture you posted is of a 'tactile switch'.
There MAY be different numbers on the switches because there may be 'normally open' (NO), and 'normally closed' (NC), versions of these switches in your kit.
That might be important, depending on how your kit circuit is designed.

[/ QUOTE]

Hi.
I am very glad for all of the answers, I know it is just a little cheap clock, but I will love to make it. And later I will love to make it together with my teens in school and my teens in family. Here is some more picture, the information from you is very useful for me.

The number of the switches - I think GY (maybe OY) and 48 at one of them and GY (OY) and 44 at the other

The schematic shows both switches as 'push-to-make' although I can't find any specs for the numbers you quote. Do you have a test meter you can check them with?

Hi again.
It is very strange, the tactile switches have different numbers in the kits. Maybe it does not mean a thing. But thank for your help, I have now made my clock, although I in the start broke 3 kits. But I am lucky now, Practice makes perfect. I use a 9V batteri, but it works fine. :) clock.jpg
