I was wondering if any of you could help me? I work in public safety and we are looking for a bank charging device to charge multiple 5 cell NI-CAD Battery packs for the Maglight flashlight.

The flashlights come with a charger where you insert the flashlight with the battery into the charger to charge.

We are looking for a device that charges the battery alone without needing to use the flashlights. We would seek to be able to charge 6 to 12 batteries at a time. 6 would probably be more feasible.

The purpose in this is to use the flashlights in prolonged incidents and have spare batteries at the ready. We had an incident like this where the flashlights started to run out of power and it would have been good to have some back up’s ready for the crew.

It would look like this, but on a bigger scale:

I found a charger that will charge one stand alone battery but not multiple batteries:

If you could point me to such a device, I would greatly appreciate it. If one does not exist, I would think there would be a market for such a device in the public safety area, if someone could build one. Maglights are used in incidents and in prolonged incidents there is a need for fresh batteries.

I've already checked with the maker's of Maglight and they do not have this type of device.

Thanks

If it was me I would figure out how much that power adapter is putting out and buy a transformer big enough to run 6/12 of them. Then wire it all in parallel. Now you have exactly what you want. You could just plug 6 of them into one power strip just as well.
