My question for you Pits, are you asking about a system able to produce
15-16,000 kWh a year (a family that are electricity hogs using about 2 times the
normal amount, or about a PV system for a small town / community.

What do you mean by LARGE SCALE?

What sort of data?
What does large scale mean to you? 10kWp? 100kWp? 1MWp?

Real time production data for a 12kWp system here:
http://www.soleilmarguerite.org/
click on: "Production d’énergie en temps réel" (uses java scripts)

I think the clouds just covered your panels, Jim.. I was looking at your
page, then it couldn't be found. Maybe I'll try again when the sky clears
over Fresno. :)

First select where the first 100 acres of PV and wind mills will go...

Then provide an actually useful question.

Thank you James initially 3 megs scaling up to 10 meg
town of 500 with growing light industrial
so draw off grid and sell back into grid type thing
240 volts here in oz btw .

At moment diesel powered gen sets
doing research on whether to go natural gas - gas turbine
or cop the govt costs of upgrading the power lines out to us
and sell back into grid.

As mining increases we will need to upscale to 30 megs
over next 3 years an drun the lines out to them
cheers

Thanks to all that replied
We are also thinking of every house in the village going full green
solar and looking at making a centre of excellence

As energy security is critical to our local industries
and growth use projections are as follows
12/04 to 6/2005 from 3 megs to 15 total
07/05 to dec 05 15-20
Jan 06 in increments of 1 meg every 6 weeks by additional modules
up to 35 megs

Energy for night is drawn off grid and remote gen sets
My problem appears to be short fall in world wide supply of
cost effective modules .

As the mines come on stream ( within a 60 mile radius)
loads grow proportionally

Budget for ten megs is $60+million USD .
Cheers

Done and is as flat as a pan cake
Then provide an actually useful question.

Apologies for inappropriate initial phrasing.

look forward to your guidelines as just a new chappie
at end of 20 hour days .

Windmills are on the coast about 200 miles away

Our windmills pump h2o with or without salinity :(
Part of the excess power will be used on desalination.
As the white death (salt) is also a killer out here.

Cheers and thank you for your guidance .

....

At these sizes you might find it more cost effective to use
solar thermal collectors and steam turbines.

http://www.solel.com/products/pgeneration/ls2/kramerjunction/
These are aprox 30 Megawatt fields but I'm sure they have some
slightly smaller versions.

Thanks Anthony had in fact researched that last week interesting
and some boffins here and in Israel I would suggest are looking at using
brine as a heat exchanger ( we are embarresed by our abundance of
saline ground water ) and part of the project is to look at ways
to fight the salt as well -- As I said the green element is a
significant factor .As mining also uses HEAPS!!!! of water
Gold Iron magnatite and zinc out here and nickel paladium etc.
All we now is an upsdazium mine and we should have a nice collection :)

Thats was a valuable referral by the way -thank you .
