Hi,

I was after a few of these myself a few months back. I couldn't find a
supplier in Australia, however I found a company in Canada that stocks them.
They were very prompt and helpful, and I had the devices within a week of
placing my order. You'll find their website here http://www.sysconcept.ca

Thanks for the info, Guy. Good to have an alternative source, just a
couple of problems with them - shipping (how much did they charge you?)
and the fact that their part uses 3V, which means more circuitry. So a
source for a Toshiba part with low shipping cost to AU would still be
great.

The shipping cost me $8.50 Canadian to have 16 modules sent via Air Mail. I
had them sent uninsured, however they offer insurance for an additional
charge.

After much Googling this company was they only mob that I could find that
retails any type of Toslink modules, no doubt others exist somewhere though.
If you're only after one transmitter module, have you thought about finding
a scrapped dvd player somewhere and removing the Toslink module from that?

DigiKey stock them (the Toshiba ones) but their shipping charge is much
higher... I'd be glad to find a DVD player to scavenge but I don't know
where to look. DVD players have more parts I'd be glad to have and
didn't get from the amps and VCR's I did get to scavenge.
