Does anyone still sell replacement flybacks for the old Mac Plus machines?
I've got a 512KE with a dead one, thought I'd fix it if I can just for fun.

Have you considered cannibalizing another one?

Have you determined that it really is dead? The old Pac Plus:es were
notorius for their zinc migration problems in the deflection
circuitry.

I have an old mac that I've had to resolder some of the connectors on
the video board a few times.

Maybe cheaper to buy a whole Mac Plus. :)

At that point, it's then a simple matter of switching analog boards
(if one doesn't simply scrap the first one and use the second Mac).

The Mac and Mac Plus and Mac 512K all used the same analog board.

It's arcing internally and smoking, I think it's fairly safe to assume the
flyback is dead :)

The flyback is the usual problem with them though, they always fail, not
worth putting in a used one. I bought a replacement for another machine, it
was only $13, but that was about 8 years ago.

Yes but that's not the point, I have this thing, I know exactly what's wrong
with it, I want to fix it for no good reason other than keeping it out of
the landfill, perhaps it'll be in a museum some day.
