Mac tools em710 component I'd help please

I have a mac tools em710 electronic meter that was playing up. After inspection I found the culprit loose component.

No marking so have no idea what to replace it with. I guess it's a surface mounted capacitor but that's as much as I can gather.

Anyone know how I can find out what to repair it with.


The part obviously goes in where I have circled.

So what lettering/numbering is on the PCB beside where that part goes ... you can see that that big resistor is labelled R8
I bet ya there's a component label for that other part almost looks like a SMD inductor

Trying to describe the component, it's looks like a stone / flint sort of material.

Don't know of that helps..

ok so been looking for the best replacement and fors a minefield

Is there anyway to find out the value? Or away to test the component I have to see what values I would be best to use?

Or any suggestions to a suitable part to use.

Perhaps in the service or schematics manual, you could find a value.
