I'm trying to remove the DM module from a Mitsubishi DLP, model
WD52725, and I'm stuck.

I removed the back cover and the rear plate. I removed the four screws
that secure the electrical chassis, and I can move the chassis back a
few inches. I don't see how to remove the modules. Do I have to remove
the whole chassis? Does it come out from the back or through the
front?

If anyone has worked on one of these sets and knows how to remove the
DM module, please post the instructions. I would be very grateful.

remove the back, remove the rear plate. ther's a screw in the back
center of the chassis ,that screws to the bottom, gotta come out.
slide the whole thing out VERY carefully, and as you do, you will need
to unplug a connector or two. draw a picture so you don't screw up.
There are several wire(s) and bundles that must be loosened (untwist
the little white plastic nylon cable routing holder downers to get
enough slack top slide the chassis out VERY carefully until the module
can be removed.Again draw a picture, take a picture whatever so you
fon't forget where/how it all was before yiyou started. Fix it. the
4 caps are usually the prob. INSATLL the PC board FIRST, make sure
you line it up correctly and it should, with a little down pressure,
snap into place. don't make a mistake here. Then carefully slide
the metal box back over the whole thing ang put it all back together.

don't force anything.

go slow.

don't force anything

take your time.

don't force anything

make a picture.

save yourself $$. maybe up to $600 bucks.

Oh, and don't force anything.

Be gentle. It'll pay off in the long.

ixoye, thanks for your reply. I've made some progress but I still have
a problem and I am asking for your help.

I have the chassis slid out most of the way but I just can't see how
to remove the DM module. Do I have to remove the shield or take out
the module next to the DM module? If you can give a little detail
about how to get the DM module out I think I'll be able to do it.

Thanks again for your help.

Did you try the service manual? I purchased it for about $24. It gave
detailed instructions on removing parts and instructions for cleanning
the mirrors and lense. Currently moving and have stuff boxed. If i
come accross the manual i will post what instructions .
I down loaded the manual online. i agree with above.....don't force
anything and take digital pictures along the way.
good luck

I downloaded the full service manual. It clearly shows Cabinet
Disassembly and Electrical Chassis Replacement, but it doesn't show
how to remove the modules, and that's where I'm stuck.

I just disassembled this beast myself. I also bought the manual, but
it stops at getting the chassis disconnected. What you need to do is
remove the chassis from the set all together. You need to disconnect
all the connectors (they are all labeles :) ), then you need to remove
the chassis. Once out, you need to remove the vent intake, and the fan
shield. Then you sidconnect the PWB board from the chassis, then
disconnect the PWB FMT board, then you will have access to remove the
PWB DM board. I noticed there is another set of (4) 1000µF caps on the
PWB FMT board, and I plan to replace those as well as the (4) on the
PWB DM board.

Hope it helps.
