I have a broken Diamondbrite screen. The 'repair guy' says there isn't
a replacement for it available. Do I trash a 4 thousand dollar tv
because the plastic screen is cracked??

I have been scouring the internet with no luck so I came to the pros.

Can anyone help?

There are very few of these left. You can try calling Mits directly, and see
if they can give you their dealer list of who was doing their service
contracts. Maybe one of them may still have a screen.

The only other alternative is to look on Ebay for another set like yours
that is in any condition as long as the screen is good, to use as spare
parts.

If you can find out the original factory part number, it may be easier to
find on the net. You would then be able to try doing a search by the part
number, rather than the description. Mits may be able to give you their
original part number.

A few places that handle Mits parts

All three screen lenses are shown as available from Mitsubishi at these
retail prices. Sounds like you need to find a new "repair guy" who either
knows how to use a computer or is a Mitsubishi ASC.

760D627070 $138.70 Diamond Shield (outer protective layer)
491P105010 $287.30 Lenticular Screen
491P106010 $446.60 Fresnel Screen

And, FWIW, if the outer "protective " screen is the only thing damaged, the set
will actually produce a better looking picture without it; of course, you'll
have to train the kids not to play football in the house...
