We'll be installing a roof mounted clothes drying rack, and I'm investigating a motorized solution to lowering/lifting the rack.
The rack will be something similar to this Clothesmaid rack:

And I'm thinking about using a Thule Multilift to lower/lift the rack.

And if so, I want to replace the eye hook with an axle to a motor controlled with "up" and "down" switches on the wall.
But I need some tips on what type of motor I ought to select for this. Would an AC or a DC motor be best for this, for example? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
