Got me a couple bags of Motorola Transistors, TO-3 Package.
Does anybody know what the cross is for the part numbers marked on them?

12901 and 3201123 (Two different types)

thanks

Those are custom numbers, where a manufacturer gets Motorola to mark a standard part with their part number or it is a custom part to their specifications. And to complicate the matter more, different manufacturers may use the same number, so Zenith could have gotten Motorola to mark a part with a particular number and another company could have gotten Texas Instruments to mark a different component with the same number for their circuit boards.

I could not find it in my old ECG book, and NTE gives a definitely wrong cross for the 12901 (their's being a plastic axial zener diode). Sorry. :(

That's what I figured. I did a pretty thorough seach myself before I asked the question here.
Thanks for looking for it.
Every once in a while, I hear from somebody who actually worked with some of these
custom part numbers, so I thought it was worth a try.
If I was lucky enough to find somebody who recognized them as a part they've worked
with in the past, I would have been pretty happy.
