Hi Folks,
I am looking for some direction in the dc battery charging area. I have many sealed lead acid batteries from 6vdc (1.3Ah) up to 12 vdc (26 Ah) and I need to maintain their charges long term. I don't know if anything off the shelf will do what I need. I want to start a program of battery maintenance for all our rechargable instrument batteries. Any thoughts and details I should consider before picking up an off the shelf charging system??
Thanks for your suggestions,
John

Hi John,

Take a look on eBay and see if you can find an older battery management system called an Alpha 4. It may cost you as much as 100.00, but they were 800-900 when new. It has four individual charging ports and more charging options than you will need.

There are battery management systems for cars/motorcycles that will maintain a float charge are any number of batteries. A friend of mine has a stable for cars and bikes and has one with 16 ports, I just can't remember the name of it. This might do for you, as well.
