I have been soldering for many years building many types of kits and making wire harness's and now I'm starting to do kits that have SMD stuff in them and I was wondering what are some of the better and easier to find liquid flux's out there.

For wires I just Oatey #5 because I can get close by and it's cheap plus it works really well, but as far as liquid flux goes I have never touched the stuff, what are you guys using and what seems to work the best.

I seen this one and thought I would try it just to see if it's any good, they also have their own website called takeorder-esf I know they claim it's a Kester flux and who knows maybe it is or it could just be a knock off.

I will say one thing however I got this Solder from I got some MG Chemicals 60/40 Solder and I don't like as good as this stuff in the link, the MG Solder is stiff and seems to flow more like a lead free solder then a solder with lead and it takes a tiny bit long to melt, the stuff from ebay is a bit softer but not to soft and melt's and flows very nicely.

I use a Kester 1429 Liquid Flux for Tinning Wires in my Hot Pot and it works very good, But not sure if it is suitable for SMD.

As to Solder, A 63/37 is Better than 60/40.
A Kester 331 Solder is available from Electro-Sonic of Canada and it contains this Flux.
But After Soldering, you MUST Wash the Parts in WATER after Soldering to Remove the Residues of this Flux.

Chemelec have you ever used the MG Chemicals 835 Liquid flux,I found just a place called Sayal that has a few locations in Ontario that I'll being right past they carry it.

I know I don't really care for MG Solder but have heard many good things about their Flux's.

No I don't buy much from MG, Mostly just Cold Spray and Contact Cleaner.

I use the Kester 331 Solder and Removing the Flux is easy, It Just Rinses off in Warm Water.

Most Rosin Flux's are the same, But they require HASH Chemicals to remove the Residue.
Even though they are normally Non-conductive, if they get moisture on them, they tend to be Conductive.
I remove all Flux from my boards.

What I Really Like about the Kester 1429 Liquid Flux, is If you have an OLDER Oxidized PCB, this flux can Remove the Oxidation.
Just BRUSH On a little, than Rince it off in Warm Water.
