Hey,

I have a project and I want to use a multiplexer to periodically switch between 5 different inputs (analog) to be output one by one, the output will be fed to a microcontroller. The same microcontroller is used to signal which input should be output.
NOTE: the voltages read by the mux will be between 0 V and 5 V.

I assumed that the multiplexer has to be one that is labelled as "analog" due to the type of inputs I am using.

I wanted to use the DG408, however I have a 9 V power supply and the data sheet specifies that one of the pins needs to be connected to "V-". I'm wondering if it would be okay to leave that pin either not connected or grounded and only use "V+" and "GND" to power the component?

If not, can someone suggest a multiplexer I can use to achieve this? I'm struggling to find one.

King regards.

Hello,

That should not be a problem.
The datasheet shows these schematics:

Perhaps the same can be done with the DG408.

Hello,

Reading the datasheet, the powersupply may be single ended:
