Ok, I have 1/2 of a Wireless microphone product - RCA WM002T. But I only
have the microphone/receiver half. I do NOT have the transmitter. So
essentially, it is useless to me. But is there a way to get the
transmitters or at least modify something from Radio Shack to act as a
transmitter for this thing? Thanks in advance.

If you need more information, please ask. I am not an electronic expert, so
I am not sure what to include in the post.

first does it look like it is worth the time and trouble to find a match?

the problem is many if not most wireless mics use a compandering method
(compression/expansion) to transmit in a reduced bandwidth. and you guessed
it, just about all the models are incompatible with each other.

consider that e-bay and music outlets are loaded with cheepie systems for
about $19.99 US (not that i would recommend or use these for professional
applications)

im just guessing but if you want to use this with a mobile DJ rig a low cost
EV, Nady, or Shure system ($100 to $150) should work just fine for you. see

Thanks for the response. I am using it for short films - alot of times the
boom is too obstructive in the shot or we need some fast moving audio (most
of my audio guys smoke cigarettes ;) )
I will look into the cheapie systems on ebay - but I was hoping to get this
one going - not only because I have one of the pieces - but because I was
going to learn something in the process of trying to modify or fix it to
work with another transmitter.

i picked up a Telex FMR-450 (UHF) lav on ebay for 'dirt' money. you will
be happier with a real 'pro' unit.
