I am working on a project that requires very low torque and slow speed of a shaft, and would like to use a 12vdc PM motor to do it with. A cordless drill motor seems just the thing for it, but even when using the onboard speed control of the drill itself (I think a transistor and something inside the trigger mechanism) it's still way too fast. I've tried different resistors in series with the voltage supply with no luck, and wondered if there was a simple homemade solution to this problem. Any thoughts?
