Hi,

There are a lot of claims regarding health benefits for negative ion
generators, but is there any scientific evidence?

Thanks in advance, Brad

Tip for your old computer (reduce discard pollution too):

If you can't sell your old computer, don't throw it away. Use it to backup
your software by transferring files/folders from your new computer or laptop
to it. I transferred my Windows folder and other stuff to my old computer
using "PC Link", which I downloaded from www.simtel.net (cool site).

I don't know of any controlled, peer-reviewed scientific studies,
but I'd venture to say that all the anecdotal stuff I've heard
about them is that they do have some kind of positive effect,
to the point that one day I intend to build one.

It could also serve a purpose as an electrostatic filter,
maybe, and it's fairly well-known that they do work, but they
(the filter folk) never seem to attribute any benefits to ions
that get released.

And probably some kind of beta particle source might help
with the ionization, but that's just a sort of 'intuitive'
thought. There might be some NG where they'd know about that
sort of stuff, or the wise gurus of sci.electronics probably
will kindly offer their insights. :)

Good Luck!
Rich
