Im a complete n00b as far as this kinda thing goes and need a bit of help

Does anyone have any idea where I can find male/female pins to solder into a plug for a car switch (see images below)

Attached to part of a loom #01 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=DN12&mospid=47547&btnr=61_0151&hg=61&fg=05

BMW doesn’t seem to sell the male/female connector pins that go inside the plug at the end of this loom separately and the plug typically only has the male/female pins relevant for the wires attached meaning I have to solder in the wires and male/female connectors myself

Failing that does anybody know a forum where someone might know what these are called, where to buy and how to measure to get the correct pins

Unfortunately its not as simple as replacing the switch as all the individual wires from the looms are soldered into it so it cannot be removed/replaced.

Thanks
Chris

Picture #4 shows the manufacturer's name: AMP
AMP is now manufactured by TYCO. What other numbers are on the shell?
You might want to contact TYCO: http://www.tycoelectronics.com/customersupport/support.asp
However, it's probably a custom connector.

ahh thanks, didnt even think about contacting the actual component supplier, will try that route :)

the other numbers are part numbers, although the BMW part number wasn't recognised by the dealer, and was only available as apart of a complete loom (talking £500 just for the bits i need if i were to go that route)

thanks again, will get more info up tonight
