Hello,

I recently decided I'd like to learn basic electronics and I'd like to set myself a small project to organize my efforts around (I learn faster when I have something practical to apply things to).

For my first circuit, I'd like to build something that vibrates indefinitely at the rate of 1 250-500ms pulse per second. I'd like to make this as simple and as low power as possible. From what I understand so far, the knowledge necessary to build this will include the very basics (voltage, current, etc.), simple IC's or oscillating crystals, and things like batteries and power consumption.

Googling around, perhaps I could connect this vibration motor to a timer...

To an experienced person, I would think the complete design of such a circuit would take a minute or two; if anyone could suggest the parts/design I would be very grateful – I could then analyze and try to understand what's going on, and then finally build/solder things to test it out.

Thanks!
