Hi, first time here and my first project ever, starting simple dont laugh.....
I am modding my pc case, the 2 LED's ( front panel HDD and PWR) have been changed to one RGB LED with the intention of using the HDD activity to change the colour.
the PWR LED is blue, the HDD is green.
individually connected they works as expected.
When connected at same time the green stays solid instead of flashing.

PWR + pin->wire->resistor->wire->led B

HDD + pin->wire->resistor->wire->led G

GRND->wire->wire->PWR -
->wire->HDD -

any help much appreciated.

An edit to this, my research suggests i might be able to use an optocoupler on the HDD part of the circuit, keeping them as separate circuits.

not an octocoupler. stupid idea. one circuit, 2 colours powered with the HDD pin and a relay breaking the connection to one of the LED anodes.
