Guys can we have some sort of an option to prevent these types of adverts? I get really scared every single time one pops up that some one will see.

Like what?

Was it spam, or was it something else?

We've had someone previously having a browser hijacker that was inserting advertising in this site.

Your browser and / or computer is compromised.
You can download a free and decent scanner here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

P.S. And stay away from the pirate sites in future. Those keygens will get you every time ;)

Virus ≠ malware, adware or browser hijacking

You need to run a malware scan, virus scanners are not effective against malware...

In my experience 9/10 of these 'infections' are the result of not keeping current with OS updates and software updates... Lack of updating Java is a big cause of these infections... Another one is people not paying attention to what they click when a popup box appears on screen... Remember that when a programmer make a cancel and accept button it doesn't really mean that the action behind the cancel is really cancel... If you are on an unknown website with a popup to that wants you to instal something it's generally best to close out of the browser vs just clicking buttons that you really don't know what the action behind them is...

I dont ever allow OS , java etc. updates and I've only ever been caught out 3 times in 20 years, and one of those I am 99% certain was the US republican party (it was the year that al gore was running, the democrats had this flash based game with retired superheros like he man etc that was kind of fun but at the same time hitting the user with as much propaganda as they could cram in. My FAT mysteriously vapourised on the very next reboot) :p

And I should probably have pointed out the obscure IT humour for those that didnt get it. If you've ever gone in search of a 5 finger discount on your favourite games / software etc. you'll know what I mean about the porn connection :p

Where is this game? You could make millions from it (once you figured out a safe way to reboot a human)!

Another vote to run MBAM (free) from Raven Luni's link - it sounds like you've got some malware on your PC. There should never be ads for members on this site - so if there's anything appearing it could be an infection that injects ads on to sites while you browse.

If you check old headings in this section, you'll find my post with a similar problem,
though not X-rated. (With info from others).
ALL of us, had a problem on our work computers only. And in our case, the problem
was solved by itself. (Hopefully yours will be too).
It may be that our business computers were specifically targeted, and depending on
your IT people, there may not be a lot you can do about on your own.
If the issue doesn't resolve itself soon, since you didn't initiate it, you might make the
problem known to whoever is responsible for your computers at your business.
The one thing you don't want to happen, is a continuing problem with porn on your
work computers. If it's not addressed, and a history of it is discovered by your bosses,
you might be considered a liability to the company.
That's my two cents worth.
