Maybe the op wants ultrasonic intranet, which would be great if it would work.
Those 40kHz ultrasonic transducers have very limited bandwidth, unfortunately - the 3dB points are usually at about 38 and 42kHz, I think. The passband is hardly flat, also, which doesn't help anyone.
I guess you might try hooking up a 9600 Bd modem - you could get away with it in your dreams - but in reality the poor, un-flat response in the transducers might mean you have to go to frequency modulation, if not Morse.
The new graphene speakers are said to have a flat response over 500kHz, and might be useful for such work.
