Hi,
I have a good reason to suspect that this chip is shorted. It is on a Lenovo Chromebook (Flip 5).
However, I cannot find it anywhere.
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

What circuit is it associated with? What's its location in respect to other devices? Is it part of another onboard system? We need clues....

It is linked with the charging circuit.
The laptop works fine without the battery plugged in. However, the laptop does not turn on and this chip gets very hot when the battery is plugged in.

It may be a switching MOSFET package - judging by all the vias surrounding the package there is a lot of copper being used to pass what is, I believe, a relatively high current. The tracks going to the other pins need to be shown more clearly to determine more details. They appear to be a lot thinner - gate drive signals perhaps......

Once again, more detail needed. For example, the device designation appears to be Q28 (not enough picture to confirm) and it this is the case it's more of a 'device' than an IC, pointing more towards my suggestion that it is a MOSFET device....
