-> it would be perfect if i could just take out the bulb and screw in a device
-> that would allow me to plug the camera into where the bulb used to be (boy,
-> do i sound stupid here or what?).
-> anyway, i did a search for "screw-in outlet" and "screw-in socket" and came
-> up with nothing useful. does anyone make such a device and if so, what is it
-> called? are they safe?
-> thanks,
-> sammy
I have one. It screws into a light socket, and has an outlet into which
a regular 2-pin power plug can be put. I've had it for years. I have no
idea where I got it or how much it cost, but it can't have been more
than a couple of bucks. I've used it plenty of times, with no trouble.
I also have some devices that screw into a light socket and have
another light socket at the other end, and also a couple of 2-pin
outlets on the sides. There's a chain-pull switch that turns the light
socket on and off, but leaves the outlets live. These things are
common. Any hardware store should have them.
