Package info needed for insulated T-220 type

I need to spec out a replacement part for a basic SCR for
phase control in a simple drive.
This component has insulated tabs and I need to find
replacements.
In all of the cat's online and off, none of them seem to indicate
this data. all I can see is differences in package details.

Dos the T-220AB indicate insulated Tabs? I've never gave this
much thought until now.

** Look for ones in " TO-220 FP " pack.

The device number will also likely have " FP " on the end.

No.

Do you ever give anything much thought ?

Now is it a thyristor you want or a triac ? I'd expect your chances with
triacs would be a little better. And what's the part number of the
original ?

It DOES.

Kids these days! It used to mean "Fiber Plate" that was used to
isolate the mounting tabs of electrolytic capacitors from a chassis.

And these days it DOES mean 'full pack'. You'll find that term used on
many data sheets.

what drugs are you on any ways.

Oh Please Tell me the difference between a thyristor compared to a
SCR,TRIAC, SIT, GTO and what ever else I may have missed, etc.

I would very much love to hear it.

In any case, they are SCR's for phase control in a bridged output.

I found the information I needed.

It is a TO-220AB which much indicate (I) as in (insulated) in the data
sheet.
The AB has the metal tab which is what I need and the FP is all
plastic which is not what I need but could work if needed.

In any case, thanks for your humbled, useless information.

Are you REALLY that poorly informed ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thyristor
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRIAC

Covers the point I was referring to.

Gate turn off devices are another kettle of fish entirely
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gate_turn-off_thyristor

SCR is generally taken to mean a thryistor not a triac but the term has become
abused over the years.

Now which one was it you wanted ?
