Does anyone sell gold-plated RCA (aka phono) sockets? It's easy to find
gold-plated chassis mount but I need PCB mount ones, and can't find anyone
that sells them.

I'm in UK but anywhere that will export to UK is fine.

Many thanks,

Jim

Why do you need gold plating?

http://www.rapidelectronics.co.uk/

They carry single gold-plated phono sockets designed to be both PCB and
chassis mounted and also twin/quad that are PCB mount only.

Hi Leon,

Good question - it is more of a marketing thing, I'm sorry to say. I realise
the benefits are rather questionable.

I thought it might be.

Conrad.nl has these, just had a look (to get my mind of a difficult PIC (problem) ).
order 73 68 99-44 PCB gold, marked black, Euro 1.49 a piece, 1.22 25 up.
Dunno about shipping, if you need a lot I could go in-between (then they would
be 12.55 a piece ;-) (but wave epibrated of cause) )

I can beat that price, partnumber CBP-G at
http://www.reichelt.de

Looks the same, for 45 eurocent.

Occasionally I buy at Conrad, but a while ago someone pointed
me to Reichelt, and often they are a *lot* cheaper. A good
shopping place for hobbyists, in general.
