PCB Trace thickness/width

Hey just wondering if I want to etch my own PCB and it will be used with a 24V 1-2A current. What is the thickness and width I'd need to have for the traces? I calculated it as .31mm width at 1oz trace thickness but want to make sure

What is the length of your trace?

I have about 0.04" which is 1mm.

Use 40thou and if it gets hot, solder tinned copper wire to the top.
