Want to replace a couple complementary transistors.
Philips A-400 (NPN) I've found a reasonable NTE cross reference for.
The Philips A-440 (PNP) is the A-400 complement. NSN#5961011584376.
They're both obsolete. I found an old spec sheet on them, but was wondering if
anybody knows where I can find the original transistors.
I'm preparing to hit my old data books and find something close to the A-440, but
was wondering if anybody might know where to find these old Philips transistors.
Thanks

What is the make and model of the equipment the A-440 is in?
I can't find the data sheet.

Wavetek Model 178 50MHZ Programmable Waveform Sysnthesizer.
Made in the early 1980's.
The A-400's are in the preamp, and the A-440's in the amp section.
Problem is they're complementary, so I'm trying to match them as closely as possible.
Just having terrible luck finding the original devices.

I would replace the A-400 with 2N2219A.
I would replace the A-440 with 2N2907A.

They may not be exact but these are the output transistors I use in a tail pulse generator.
They seem to be very durable in this application.

Thanks john monks, I'm going to give them a try and see if I can get this thing to
pass calibration.
