I recently aquired a {laymaster 300w subwoofer amp and would dearly like to
obtain the magazine articles for construction of the amp so
that I have a better chance of having repairs undertaken in the future if
necessary.

Could anyone provide me with photocopies of the original articles from, I
believe, Electronics Australia magazine, or if anyone can steer me to an
internet site detailing the circuit, etc, I would really appreciate it.

For anyone who has the original articles I am quite prepared to compensate
them for copies.

I can be contacted at P_Rhodes at bigpond.com or 0401-715808

With Thanks

Heaps of unis, TAFEs, etc have back issues of EA. Failing that, try
contacting Silicon Chip, who own the title.

Hi Peter,
I wasn't aware the Silicon Chip would possibly have back issues of EA. I
shall give that a go and the Tafe/Uni option also sounds good. Thanks for
the reply.

Silicon Chip have all of the old ETI/EA content, acquiring them after
Electronics Australia became nothing more than a catalogue of consumer
electronics.

Failing that RCS Radio make circuit boards for ALL ETI/EA projects thus they
may also carry project details.

Good luck.

Hi and Thanks,
I will persue your lead and see what I can find.
Did you build this amp for your own use and if so how did you find it to be.
Were you satisfied with it.

Hi Robert,
I have now sent Silicone Chip an email re this amp and am now awaiting a
reply. I guess I may get a reply early next week. According to their web
site they should be able to supply copies of the amp building articles.
Thanks for the lead.

I've built the subwoofer amp as well as the 180 watts/channel amp. They're
awsome.
The best subwoofers were the big tall ones from Jacar. Designed by Silicon
Chip I think. They are by far the best. They don't sell 'em anymore :(

I have the publication and I built the amp back in 1995 coupled with the
tall subwoofer cabinet, it sounds pretty good and is still going strong.
When I get a spare moment I will fire up the scanner and email them to you.

Just in case you don't get supplied with all of the errata on this amp
you can find them here
http://www.electronicsaustralia.com.au/cgi-bin/downloads.pl?area=6
look for the files down near the bottom of the list.
