Hello, I have a laser helmet for hair growth. One of the components has overheated and failed. The company wont sell me a replacement circuit board or tell me what the component is. Do you know? Is it even available?

I can see a copper coil inside it. Here are the numbers on it but I couldn't find anything on the web

Hi there Zapper
welcome to EP :)

Well its says BZ on the circuit board and that would indicate that it is a buzzer ... your observation of a coil inside
supports that conclusion

Thank you.

I think you have pointed me in the right direction. It does indeed appear to be a a buzzer from a Nokia Lumia 820 but only one set of numbers match. This one:

0091V 1.3

What are the chances that the "1.3" indicates voltage?

Pretty slim. :D
I guess it's possible, but I reckon it's just a bit of the part number.
I doubt if they have a fixed voltage like that - they're sort of like a little speaker, driven by an AC waveform. (I think.)

Quite possibly. I considered that, but it's unusual that there's a space between V and 1.3

I don't think the meaning of the number is too important in terms of using it. I'll bet that any near-identical buzzer would work fine.

It's very unusual to see a buzzer burn up like that. Makes me wonder why, and if there's another underlying fault.

I agree regarding burned up condition-there is more wrong to cause that

Yeah, I thought I'd better mention that, so Zapper doesn't think that simply replacing the buzzer will necessarily fix the unit.
Looks like the buzzer has had a pretty decent blast of DC, maybe. (Or worse - AC mains or lightning strike?.)

Edit: I have no idea whether it's a battery or mains-operated device.

If you want your hair to grow, QVC is your world.
They really work..
I personally buy the in the ear and eye brow growers.
I have yet to use the nose hair grower.
Have you tried that?
Please keep us informed.

That is so funny, You cannot even joke without somebody with a forehead larger than mine selling a fix!!
Reseeding hair is one thing, believing you can fix it! That is another thing.
Going on National TV with a hair product!! And lacking hair to boot....
Priceless..
