plz explain how i program microcontrollers

how do i program a microcontroller with usb like make leds flash and like that
i need a cuircuit any ideas?????? Would be really happy if somebody could give me a good advice​

If you are just starting off, something like the 16F84 PIC might be a good place to start. There is a tutorial explaining how things work on this link

first time microcontrollers...

have you thought about playing around with a PICAXE chip? when I started out with microcontrollers they gave me a good idea and helped build my confidence.
