Hi all,

Tried another NPN mute transistor, checked resistors even unsoldered
pin 2 on micro (this is older CTC203 chassis) to let voltage divider
float to 5V which didn't rise but micro will turn off mute transistor
and let audio amps come out of mute. Even I took that SMD mute buffer
transistor off and base voltage will rise to 5V but with SMD
transistor in it only rises to .690V with pin 2 of micro unsoldered.
The audio amps will mute themselves if mute pin 3 are floating or
transistor in place (turned off).

Pops when TV is plugged in, will not pop when turned on and have good
audio but will on turn off.

Any tips?

But I have another problem to contend with, chipper check II is
balking now! Software complains can't communicate with chassis.
Agggh. Needed that to reinit that 203 just in case.

Cheers, Wizard

Search the RCA service bulletins for the actual cure for the audio popping.
May be as sinister as conductive glue, leaky smd device, etc.
