Possible dumb question

I'm trying to use a picoscope awg to control frequency and voltage running to a buzzer. If i connect the AWG output to one pole of the buzzer, what do I connect the other to?

p.s. I'm a mechanical engineer so laymans terms would be appreciated

AWG = Arbitrary Waveform Generator

TC, help us help you by not using cryptic abbreviations.

P.S.: The AWG has a 2 pole output: signal and ground. Connect each to one of the buzzer's wires.

havent heard of that acronym before

the only AWG I knew was American Wire Gauge ;)
