My roommate has a power chair 24 volt
It has two batteries that are 12 volt and they're wired for 24 volts
We had just had them replaced it was delivered I charged it slowly for 8 and 1/2 hours then I took it for one short roll to see how it was holding up a charge.
My roommate didn't use the chair for 3 months and the batteries, "went bad".
We were told that the reason they went bad was because the batteries were not disconnected from the chair.
Is this true ,and shouldn't the batteries be under warranty?

Welcome to EP!

If the chair when connected draws any current at all, which it probably will if in 'standby mode', then the batteries will have slowly discharged. Even non-connected batteries self-discharge in time.
The instructions that came with the chair may have advice on battery usage and will include the warranty terms. Normal 'wear and tear' is usually excluded from any warranty.
