What is the best/neatest method to distribute power to devices such as
glassbreak and motion detectors. I have 15 such dectectors and have
home run everything to the panel. I am using a Caddx N8E.

Any suggestions?

Nick you will need an altronix 2.5 amp 12 volt power supply a metal cabnet,
back up battery 7 amp.hr and a 16.5, 25 va transformer. The parts are not
to expensive. Be sure to run a common ground between the alarm panel and the
power supply. I would be glad to sell you what you need if someone else
hasn't helped you yet. Thanks

Tyler a transfo with a minimum of 30 VA will be needed to supply power for a
2.5 amps power supply.

i would even recommend 40 VA as the transfo will need to recharge the
battery AND give power to the device after a power outage

NX-320E is the "Smart power supply and bus extender". There's no problem
with using the power supply Tyler and "petem" have mentioned (stick with
"petem's" suggested transformer though). The NX-320E will supervise the
extra battery you'll need though. You'll need another transformer to power
it as well.

You are right. I stand corrected. After I got thinking about my response I
gave thought to the subject and looked at the exact equipment I ordered in
the past and relized I infact used 40 va transformers

There is nothing wrong with the above, but there are other ways: (1)
Use the ELK 9 ch power distribution unit (about $30 I believe) or use
the power supply in your control of course. If the latter, bring all
of the positive wires together, and all of the negative wires
together. Solder the joints, along with a single Red & Black wire.
After you wrap the joints, place a terminal lug on the Red & Black
wires, and take to your aux. terminals on the control. This is all
that you need, but you may also want to install the ELK "low battery
cut-off unit (about $11) so as not to drain the control battery during
a black-out.
