Why black magic of course, as with all resonant circuits.

You hit the switch when a resonant circuit is doing something special (like
having little voltage across your transistors).

Transformers don't pass DC, and presumably you are considering a design
where a ferrite transformer of some description gets woven into the circuit.
You need a rectifier for that.

You need a rectifier for that.

I am going to use a laminated core transformer, because I already have
one, that's why I want the circuit to work at low frequency, for now.

Are you using any king of circuit simulator for your designs?

Yep- Reality 1.2. Complete with Magic Smoke Generator (MSG) and new,
improved interactive electric shock interface. The software is free, but
you have to pay for your own hardware (including the MSG refills).

Good, if you didn't have any, I would have suggested LT Spice, it's
free and it seems to do the job. It showed me many of my mistakes.
