Hello! I am working on a device that uses a phone battery to power leds. There's a specific cable ive been using to plug into the phone, but they are out of stock, and I need to make more devices. The problem I've tried other cables, and the leds don't turn on! How come when I connect some of the usb cables to the phone, the leds turn on, and with some cables, they don't? How do I tell the difference when buying cables?

Cable that works (limited stock):

Cables that don't work:

I have to make 30 of these and need help urgently. Thanks!

Former is a data transfer cable ( not made for any real current demand) just for signals.

Latter are charging cables and possibly fitted with diodes.

Best you go buy yourself a power pack before you do some irrepairable damage.
