I'm in Newfoundland, Canada! Where, besides B.C.,
Canada can I get parts for these T.V.'s? Can you "reset"
the EEPROM in these units? I know there cheap. but it's
the only brand I haven't gotten any training, or learning on!
I'd like to fix them, as we get a lot of cheap units in, & we
try to fix them cheaply! I know how to reset the RCA
EEPROM, & how to tweak them, but nobody in these
parts knows anything! Ideas? Thanks, Rono.

It's not a matter of who sells them! Nobody will
service them! I have a prima 20"! Works great!
Lovely pix, video/audio in, &audio out! I'm getting
a few in now out of warranty, & want to fix them!

These sets are "throw-away" sets. There is no proper support. If the
importer will sell the parts to you, then you would have a way to have parts
to service these. The only parts you can have outside of the importer, are
the standard generic types, such as the common types of transistors, caps,
resistors, and soforth.

If you were to look at the value of the time involved to troubleshoot the
set, the time and cost of ordering the parts, installing the new parts, and
then testing and adjusting the set, you or your customer can more than buy a
new set!

Also, the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of this type of TV set is not
very high. They will soon be failing again after they are serviced. The
choice of the component ratings in these types of sets are based on
performing better than the obligated warranty, rather than for the maximum
lifespan, and highest of accuracy and stability of operation.

If you want to really learn about electronics, take the effort to do a
structured coarse, and follow a recognized standard to get well educated,
and especially in the field of electronics, and computer systems. This way,
when you finish, you will be able to use it to make a very good living. You
would want to work get in to working in a communications facility, or a TV
broadcast facility.
