Problem Monitor

Thanks for any help that you can bring to me. I hope that you
understand my poor level of english (I´m Latino - Colombia)
My problem is with a PC Monitor. Model: TCM-1450D Techmedia (a very
unknow model). Initially the monitor is dead, I discover that the
HOT(ECG2353) is short, the mosfet driver (IRFS630) is short, and a
capacitor (364 - 250V) is broke. I change this components and the
monitor work well (many resolutions in 60Hz). The problem is that I
try to change the resolution of the monitor to 800x600 and refresh
rate to 70Hz (then I discover that this is a posible invalid mode),
when I make the change the monitor turn off and a capacitor (47
microfarads, 200V) was very hot and have a big blister. With other
revisions the capacitor exploit. Now I see that the B+ is in 350V and
the voltage across this capacitor (that I change) is in 320V. The
flyback don´t have any voltage in the auxiliary windings. The IC
regulator (3842) have voltage and I review each diode and transistor
and I can´t see damage. I ´m greatful for some help.

Other problem with other monitor.
The flyback is a FTO-14A010. I measure the windings resistance and
find that a auxiliary terminal that is connected to a diode and
capacitor, don´t have
continuity with any windig. ¿This mean that the flyback is damage?

It is possible that the flyback is damaged. Also when the horiz output is
blown, there is a very strong chance that there are other components that
are also defective.

Using ECG replacement parts may not always be a good idea in these monitors.
Many times the horiz output, and the switching supply semiconductors can be
very critical to the specifications. The ECG parts are general replacements
and may not be exact enough. I have had bad results with them is many
situations. I only used them if the original parts cannot be found by any
means.

Considering the type of monitor you have, I would have sent it to the scrap
rather than putting any money in to it!
