Is it possible to replace the PS2 disk drive with one where the disk slides in and out like on the PS3? Perhaps a replacement one for the PS3, or a generic assembly. Even just the sliding disc assembly without the reader, and put the PS2's reader in there.
This is because I would like to make a device similar to the Nintoaster, but a PS2 one. ("PlayToaster 2"?)
If you can't really do that, then can you get the sliding disc assembly from the original fat PS2 to work in the slim?
I'm sure you could hybrid a disc assembly with the PS2's stock one to make something to allow the user to load the disc in the top of the toaster.
