16 Channels! :D

Built and tested 8 Channels, dont have enough mosfets for 16 lol but it should work.
Version 3 was revised, only needed a total of 6 fets for 8 channels.
If only lighting low current LEDs, the 2 P-Mos could just be removed

Think I spotted some IC's in the 16 channel version.

There are 2 4069's required for the schematic.

One way to evaluate the relative "simpleness" of a circuit approach, especially for an amateur building a one-off home or school project, is to count the number of soldered pins. For digital logic, this includes all power and input pins, but not any unused output pins.

Not counting the switch and the LEDs and their current limiting resistors, which would be a constant part of any approach, the circuit in post #6 has 124 soldered pins. A circuit with a switch conditioner, 4-bit counter, and 4-to-16 decoder would have 55 pins.

The whole purpose of why i'm doing this, is to learn the concept, the logical approach to doing things that could mimic the end result from using ready made ICs. Theres a reason why I chose the CD4069UB for the 16 Channel version, it contains 6 simple inverters (Somehow I thought it has 8, thats why I wrote 1 IC). It is all for fun and not practical.
