Question about circuit diagram

Hi friends i have one battery output 5v and i have one circuit its input range is 1 v to 5 v.

My question is i want to supply only 1 v to that circuit using my 5 v batteries.

How can i done this please help me.

and one more thing same problem with capacitor.

i have one capacitor 5 v, i want to take only 1 v constantly, but here is big problem while using capacitor, capacitor will discharge quickly.
problem is varying input = capacitor
using only 1 v from discharging capacitor.

How much current are we talking about?

For efficiency a buck converter would be best.
