I see in the August 2007 Jameco catalogue that some potentiometers are
listed as having the property of a "non-rotational key." Can someone tell
me what this means?

Any help is appreciated.

A non-rotational key is a pin or tab on the front surface of the pot that fits
into a hole or slot in the panel that the pot is mounted on. Keeps the pot from
spinning if the mounting nut works loose. Also assures an accurate mounting
position for the pot, needed if the mounting surface has a dial or other legend
painted or engraved.
